PublicationsBooks and Booklets | Prints and Postcards | General Information
The books include a flagship range of Guernsey Museum Monographs which provide high quality academic information about specialist Guernsey related topics. The volume describing the excavation of Guernseys Gallo-Roman Wreck is a typical example. Booklets with a slightly more general appeal are included in the Artists in Guernsey range, which provide information about, and illustrate the work of several of Guernseys most popular historic artists or artistic visitors, such as Renoir. These are complimented by a number of other books - often produced to accompany displays or special exhibitions held by the museum and an expanding range of activity books aimed at involving younger family members. The museum also publishes a range of good quality postcards, many of which show items from the art collection, providing (here on the website) a convenient way of illustrating the scope of the collection - until such time as we can provide on-line access to our catalogues. In association with a leading UK specialist printer, the museum is pleased to offer a range of Limited Edition Print, taken from items in the museum collection. These include a number of paintings by the locally based artist William John Caparne (1855 - 1940) and reduced size giclée print of the famous Duke of Richmond map of Guernsey, first published in 1787. The hand-coloured limited-edition print (from the original copper plates) in now sold out. These items may be purchased from the shop at Guernsey Museum & Art Gallery. Mail order sales by arrangement, please enquire about pricing and availability. We regret that it is not cost effective to offer individual postcards by this method, although please ask if the idea of a mixed bundle has any appeal. In a new venture since 2006, we are now able to offer on-line sales of some prints and photographs from our collections. |
